Hurricane Harvey-Dear Brothers and Sisters,

August 29, 2017

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

As we continue to learn more about the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and along the Gulf Coast, we want to assure all our members in the region that CWA will stand with you and help in every way we can.

As this disaster unfolds over the next several days, tens of thousands of people will need emergency shelter, not to mention food, blankets, water, and other basic supplies. Then, the tougher work begins, and those CWA families affected by this devastation will need our help more than ever.

CWA District 6 Vice President Claude Cummings is collecting information from locals about members who have been displaced from their homes and what their long-term needs might be. We’re still assessing this toll on our members; we won’t know the full extent of the flood damage for some time.

CWA’s Disaster Relief Fund will be used to help members in need. In addition, District 6 is setting up a special fund and once that's complete we will provide information to locals and individuals who wish to donate.

Please keep all the residents of Texas and the Gulf Coast region in your thoughts and prayers.

In Unity,

Christopher M. Shelton
